I make objects.
I would like for the objects to offer themselves to you.
But that’s not up to me.
do they speak on their own?
It’s difficult for me to escape using the objects to embody a frivolous affair.
they just want to exist.
and so I let them.
I believe intention and circumstance have come to the forefront as the true essence of what I make.
The work has a conversation with itself through moments of design and accidents.
Beginning with an idea, I will struggle to apply it to the material.
Beginning with a material, I will struggle to apply it towards an idea.
Tethered to a virtual system, the work may finally breathe when it collides with physical reality.
imo the most intriguing moments with my work begin with ubiquitous symbols. Their marriage to ambiguity and aesthetic result in something I don’t initially understand.
For me to subconsciously migrate through - until I can spit out words to label it for greedy eyes. It continues to randomly manifest and it becomes clearer to me why it emerged into realness.
A sense of familiarity makes the ideas easier to access. But does that even matter?
Granting myself moments of play for the sake of building an object narrative is important to me .

And there’s an innate human desire to find a connection. Anything ?
When you want less, you will get more.
Sometimes; I often feel our problems can be solved by a simple gesture. . . do it. set yourself free.
